The sports car model Cayenne from the house of Porsche has already entered its third generation release, but for the year 2019, the maker gave it a real makeover. The model is gaining its weightage since its launch as the manufacturer has been perfecting this flagship sports car model into a bigger size, with more muscular tone, and imbibing the features expected from a two-row SUV in the garb of a futuristic sports car.
The journey was as interesting as the car itself. As it happens with every car model that wears a Porsche badge, even the series of Cayenne was destined to be exciting both in terms of its appearance and performance, that every driving spirit will feel the urge to drive.
At a famous sports car dealer near us, we were explained that now that the Cayenne series is stepping for the 2020 model year, the automaker Porsche had to make it all the more desirable by improving all its domains, including the potent powertrains, that can crank up to 455 of horsepower and a vast range of feature options, with a handful of hard-to-resist standard goodies installed under its roof.
Revving Powerline
When it is a sports car and the maker is Porsche, you can expect to see a range of powertrain that can simply deliver consistently revving performance. That’s how the Porsche Cayenne series has been in the making. It was sketched, crafted and curved out to deliver the most passionate performance, with 434-units of ponies to deal with the road surfaces. This power is derived from a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 engine, and it is capable of bolting straight to a sped output of 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds from a cold dead stop.
The most powerful version, of the 2020 year lineup is the 541-hp making twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine that don’t allow any other rival to take over the road.
Then there is an E-Hybrid version of Cayenne available for the 2020 year lineup that runs on the power of an electric motor backed with a 14.1-kWh battery pack while a 3.0-liter V-6 turbocharged engine stays with it for a backup. Both make 455 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque with their combined effort. All the powertrain options allow only an eight-speed automatic transmission to relay the engine power to all-the-four-wheels.
There is also a Sport Chrono package available for this year that is known for bringing in few selectable drive modes to improve the acceleration, depending upon the terrains through which the 2020 Cayenne is driven through.
Strategic Engineering
Every trim of the 2020 Porsche Cayenne has a revving performance to boast about. It is the result of a clean and strategic engineering that has selected all the right options to make things work the finest way. Be it the advantage of the adaptive dampers or the adjustable air suspension, be it the four-wheel steering setup that is implemented for improved maneuverability, or the efficiency of the active anti-roll bars, the 2020 Cayenne from Porsche has it all to build up the ideal sports car in the showrooms of any sports car dealership.
